I like foreign films. I do. So it was fitting that the first DVD I would rent with my Netflix membership would be French.
I didn't watch it all in one sitting (viewing time = nearly four hours in total). I didn't cry when a main character died. I didn't connect with the love story.
BUT. The story of selfishness and betrayal, anger and remorse. THAT, I connected with. In the end, 5 stars out of 5!

i think the second foreign film i ever watched was with you at the swkt. others were there including a guy named... gardner?... who ended up walking me home even though he was going the other way. very gentlemanly.
although right after hearing his name i decided that i could never marry him. too weird. ( :
Late Spring! The most hilarious Japanese movie I've ever seen! About the old man who tricks his old maid daughter into marrying someone she doesn't love...so that she won't be an old maid forever...hahahaha
good memory! i couldn't have given you any of those details, but that all sounds vaguely familiar...
i like that one. have you seen "I've Loved You So Long"?
Danna - not yet, but it's on my netflix queue! :)
